On the show this week we are going to the dark side with an episode of the classic radio series, The Whistler. We have had many tales from this program in the past. So, I am not going to spend a lot of time talking about this old time radio gem. However, I will tell you why The Whistler is one of my favorites. It is the plot. The writers take ordinary people and put them into extraordinary situations. The main character is always given way out, but in the end, it is something truly silly or simple trips them up. The amazing thing is that this plotline works over and over again. The 692 episodes of The Whistler prove that.

Our story has a bit of a twang to it and is called “Tell-Tale Brand”. It first aired on the CBS Radio Network on January 9, 1949.
