Sherlock Holmes. Now why would we be talking about Sherlock when the show is clearly about Sweeney Todd the Demon Barber? Well today we combine the investigating abilities of the world’s greatest detective with a play about a murdering barber.

The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes was an Old-time Radio (OTR) show that aired in the United States from October 1939 to July 1947. The show aired weekly on Mondays from 8:30 to 9:00pm and was broadcast from Hollywood. Our story puts a new twist on a very old fictional character. The episode is called Sweeney Todd, Demon Barber and first aired January 28, 1946.

Also on the program today we have a story from Ethel Grimm about her time growing up as a dirt farmer in North Carolina.
