Last week I told you we had a western for this week. Unfortunately, I will not be able to present it due to copyright restrictions. I have replaced it with an even better tale from the OTR series Suspense. What more can I tell you about this program that we have not already covered? Well, the show's first producer was William Spier. He determined that the series should deal with life-and-death situations established near the beginning of each play. Then through the use of musical scoring and the writer's characterizations slowly tighten the knot of SUSPENSE. Many of the stories produced by Mr. Spier are now classics of the genre. You can hear many of these in the archives of Ron’s Amazing Stories. Our tale is called, “The Last Detail”. As this story unfolded I kept thinking that I had a handle on the outcome, in the end I never really saw it coming. I would say more, but anything I could would be a spoiler. The Last Detail first aired on July 5, 1945.
